The FH Münster University of Applied Sciences (FH Münster), founded in 1971 out of eight public and private schools, has developed into a modern, achievement-oriented university highly respected across Europe. The university has approximately 15,561 students and is one of the most significant and prominent institutions of its kind in Germany. Its 1,287 staff members, thereof 292 teaching staff, and over 101 courses of study provide a wide range of high-quality education to its students, and the local and national economy greatly benefiting. The FH Münster prides itself on producing students of the highest calibre, prepared once they leave university to enter the world of work and become instrumental in many organisations. With a multidisciplinary approach, it qualifies people for life in the global market. It imparts an adaptive understanding of the changing world, especially regarding societal changes and challenges and a practice-oriented curriculum.

In 2007, the FH Münster was awarded as one of the Top 5 Universities for university-industry knowledge exchange by the German Ministry of Education and Research. In 2019, the FH Münster was selected in a national programme for universities as an entrepreneurial university (EXIST Gründerhochschule) and was funded with 1.5 million Euros.

The strong ties between education and industry allow the FH Münster to be proactive in its education curriculum, adapting to the needs of the sectors by preparing students for the working world in a natural and impactful way.

In 2018 FH Münster was selected as an “Innovative Hochschule” within the federal-state funding initiative, promoting the research-based, standard way of transferring ideas, knowledge and technology. This understanding of transfer in a reciprocal manner in the sense of “science with and for society” is at the centre of the FH Münster transfer strategy.

Residing within FH Münster, the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) is recognised worldwide for its approach to Science-to-Business Marketing and developing more entrepreneurial and engaged universities. The centre has 37 team members and researchers who have profound knowledge and expertise in developing models and tools for digital transformation, technology transfer, innovation, entrepreneurship, and university-business-society cooperation. The S2BMRC is the academic driving force behind the development of entrepreneurship and innovation within FH Münster. Key foci in its activities in research, teaching, and engagement are the topics of digital transformation, sustainability, societal engagement, and leadership. As such, the S2BMRC as a scientific-analytical unit drives knowledge generation to push new insights and methods into the curricula.
